The MRCOOL® Signature Series Single-Stage 96% AFUE 45k BTU is a quiet-running and energy efficient downflow furnace unit that provides superior heating performance in a compact design. Thanks to the multi-speed high efficiency blower motor, the furnace features a 96% AFUE, and offers enhanced cooling SEER ratings when applied with properly matched cooling equipment, so utility costs will be more affordable. The unit’s durable build and finish is credited to an aluminized steel primary heat exchanger with crimped non-welded construction.
For smooth ignition, the furnace features aluminized steel inshot burners and a durable silicon nitride ignitor. The single stage gas valve delivers home heating quickly and effectively. Installation is easy thanks to the unit’s compact 33 inch design and its standardized widths for easy coil fit. It can be easily vented with PVC pipe and offers a left or right utility connection. It is design certified for direct and non-direct vent applications.
There is also an optional LP kit for liquid propane conversion if needed. The easily removable slide out blower design makes maintenance a breeze for a professional HVAC technician as well. I ordered a HVAC system and it arrived in a timely manner and with no apparent issues. I thought the system was defective once installed but it was the installers fault who wired it wrong. My only issue would be the fee (30% I believe) to return a defective item within the 30 day return policy. If it is defective the customer shouldn't have to pay a fee to return an item that is not operating as designed. Other than that this is a good company.
Installed my own central HP system. It was a bit of work but nothing beyond a person with basic mechanical and electrical skills. It took me a while because I had to remove the existing electric forced air furnace from a pretty tight place. Some custom sheet metal work and a bit of custom electrical too. Worked perfectly when powered up and I actually like the thermostat provided, although I wish it was clearer how to set up a temperature set-back schedule. Pre-charged refrigerant piping was something new and I liked that too. The best thing is that my electric utility forked out $4,000 and that paid for the unit!

Overall Great Unit and working with HOD was simple. Unit arrived on time and in good shape.
Install was as stated and works good but struggles at heating house when temperatures are below freezing. I am concerned what will happen once we get to 20 and lower. Over all I like the product but they should be more honest about heating at low temperatures.
