Most standard ceiling heights are 8-9 ft, but some people will have slightly lower at ceilings of between 7 to 8 ft. In these instances, you will need to order a shortening kit.
Likewise, some people will need to lengthen their range hoods celings that are higher than 9ft, and so this will require an extension kit.
Hoods should be placed at a minimum of 30-36 inches above the cooktop.
