Installed my own central HP system. It was a bit of work but nothing beyond a person with basic mechanical and electrical skills. It took me a while because I had to remove the existing electric forced air furnace from a pretty tight place. Some custom sheet metal work and a bit of custom electrical too. Worked perfectly when powered up and I actually like the thermostat provided, although I wish it was clearer how to set up a temperature set-back schedule. Pre-charged refrigerant piping was something new and I liked that too. The best thing is that my electric utility forked out $4,000 and that paid for the unit!

I recently removed my old gas furnace and replaced it with the MRCOOL Hyper Heat - Central Heat Pump & Gas Furnace Split System - 24K BTU, 96% AFUE - 17.5" Cabinet - Multi-Position. This system was very straight forward and simple to install. I live in Colorado and have been enjoying the cool all summer. I tested the heat function but have not had a cold season yet, with my new system. I'm sure it will heat as good as it cools.
My installation was complex because the room where I installed the units has a challenging layout. The units seem to work well, but I hear the sound of freon flowing inside the pipes, and I wonder if this is normal or if I made a mistake. Sometimes, the pipe insulators have drops of water from internal condensation, which also concerns me. I was unable to reach tech support to address these questions. I spent almost $4,700 in cash, and not being able to reach tech support is unacceptable.
No muss, no fuss. 1 call about extended warranty which I declined. Otherwise just straight forward drop shipment to curb, on time and as expected. All items in perfect shape, no breaks or rips in boxes.
The items (Mr. Cool 27k 3 head 9k/9k/12k DIY) installed great, easy to follow instructions. 1 wall insert was slightly cracked due to no packing material in the line box, but I it taped up and it inserted fine. Could have used more custom sized lines for fitting but otherwise very happy with product.
