As part of a MrCool DIY system, the MrCool DIY 9K BTU Ductless Wall Mounted Air Handler is one of the most efficient air handlers available. Not only can it produce a 22 SEER efficiency rating it can also cover an area up to 375 sq. ft. It is also incredibly versatile and equipped with multiple operating modes, which include COOL, HEAT, AUTO, DRY (dehumidify), and SLEEP.
This unit also has the capability to be controlled by your Apple or Android smartphone through the use of the Smart HVAC app. With its light and compact design, it can be installed easily to most interior walls with the included mounting plate. To take the simplicity of the installation even further, this air handler is designed to be used with MrCool’s patented Pre-Charged Quick Connect Line Set. The line set is equipped with quick connectors which give a DIY installer the ability to connect the refrigerant piping with wrenches. The line set comes from the factory pre-charged with the correct amount of R-410A refrigerant, so no vacuuming is necessary. I ordered a HVAC system and it arrived in a timely manner and with no apparent issues. I thought the system was defective once installed but it was the installers fault who wired it wrong. My only issue would be the fee (30% I believe) to return a defective item within the 30 day return policy. If it is defective the customer shouldn't have to pay a fee to return an item that is not operating as designed. Other than that this is a good company.
Installed my own central HP system. It was a bit of work but nothing beyond a person with basic mechanical and electrical skills. It took me a while because I had to remove the existing electric forced air furnace from a pretty tight place. Some custom sheet metal work and a bit of custom electrical too. Worked perfectly when powered up and I actually like the thermostat provided, although I wish it was clearer how to set up a temperature set-back schedule. Pre-charged refrigerant piping was something new and I liked that too. The best thing is that my electric utility forked out $4,000 and that paid for the unit!

Overall Great Unit and working with HOD was simple. Unit arrived on time and in good shape.
Install was as stated and works good but struggles at heating house when temperatures are below freezing. I am concerned what will happen once we get to 20 and lower. Over all I like the product but they should be more honest about heating at low temperatures.
