    Decent Company

I ordered a HVAC system and it arrived in a timely manner and with no apparent issues. I thought the system was defective once installed but it was the installers fault who wired it wrong. My only issue would be the fee (30% I believe) to return a defective item within the 30 day return policy. If it is defective the customer shouldn't have to pay a fee to return an item that is not operating as designed. Other than that this is a good company.

Pretty Easy Install and Works Great!

Installed my own central HP system. It was a bit of work but nothing beyond a person with basic mechanical and electrical skills. It took me a while because I had to remove the existing electric forced air furnace from a pretty tight place. Some custom sheet metal work and a bit of custom electrical too. Worked perfectly when powered up and I actually like the thermostat provided, although I wish it was clearer how to set up a temperature set-back schedule. Pre-charged refrigerant piping was something new and I liked that too. The best thing is that my electric utility forked out $4,000 and that paid for the unit!

    Constant Spam Warranty Calls

I would buy elsewhere. Unit works pretty well. We get phone calls every couple weeks trying to sell us a warranty. This website sold our information to them. They made a few dollars, and we pay for it every 2 weeks getting call after call trying to sell a warranty.

    Is this the best way?

In the last few years I have installed four 12000 btu Mr Cool units and one of the 27000 btu units with two 12000 btu air handlers. I am happy with the performance of all of them, but if I had it to do over again, I would install two of the 12000 btu units instead of the 27000 btu unit. The price would be approximately the same, but the smaller units are much easier to deal with. The fact that the 12000 btu units require only 120 v power means that you can often make use of existing wiring rather than run a new line. The 27000 unit is quite heavy. It is much more difficult to move around . I didn't realize that fluid is pumped to both units even if only one of them is turned on. This results in confusing readings on the app and it probably results in reduced efficiency. I many cases using two smaller units rather than a large one would allow use of shorter lines. I appreciate that fact that HOD makes it easy to order units with appropriate line lengths rather than being forced to use standard sizes that may be longer than necessary.
