ZLINE appliances are designed in the United States and manufactured in specialized partner facilities around the world. ZLINE Kitchen and Bath is a family-owned American company founded by Andrew Zuro in 2007 and headquartered in Reno, Nevada. It ships to customers from its own distribution centers in Nevada, Tennessee and Ohio. In ZLINE's own words, its products are "designed in the United States and produced using globally sourced materials and components."
Our team at Home Outlet Direct is an authorized ZLINE dealer. Below we explain what that answer means in practice: who owns ZLINE, how its global manufacturing model works, how quality and warranty support are handled, and what it all means for you as a buyer.
Where Are ZLINE Appliances Made? The Short Answer
- Designed: in the United States. Product design, development and corporate operations are based at ZLINE's headquarters in Reno, Nevada.
- Manufactured: in specialized partner factories worldwide, which ZLINE calls its international manufacturing network. ZLINE notes that manufacturing and assembly locations vary by product and model.
- Distributed: from ZLINE's U.S. distribution centers in Nevada, Tennessee and Ohio.
- Supported: by ZLINE's U.S.-based Customer Experience team, with warranty repairs handled by ZLINE-certified service providers.
If you need the exact country of origin for a specific model, check that product's listing or carton label. It can differ from category to category, for example between a range hood and a refrigerator.
Who Owns ZLINE?
ZLINE Kitchen and Bath was founded in 2007 by Andrew Zuro (the "Z" in ZLINE) and remains an independent, family-owned company. It is not a sub-brand of a larger appliance conglomerate. ZLINE notes it has been family-owned for nearly 20 years.
The company's story starts with a familiar remodeling problem. While working on his own home, the founder found that high-end appliances usually came with either out-of-reach prices or design compromises. ZLINE was created to close that gap, and its Attainable Luxury® positioning still drives the lineup today: professional styling, premium materials and a wide choice of finishes at prices below many luxury pro-style brands.
From Range Hoods to a Complete Kitchen
ZLINE built its name on range hoods in stainless steel, copper and wood. From there it expanded into ranges, rangetops and cooktops, dishwashers, microwaves, wall ovens, refrigerators, wine and beverage coolers, ice makers, and kitchen and bath plumbing fixtures.
The brand's ties to the Sierra Nevada region still show in its branding: ZLINE's product descriptions continue to describe its designs as coming from Lake Tahoe, USA, a short drive from its Reno headquarters.
How ZLINE's Global Manufacturing Model Works
Like many appliance brands sold in the US, ZLINE does not build every product in one factory. It designs and engineers products in-house, then works with partner manufacturers that specialize in specific categories. ZLINE says this global approach gives it access to advanced technologies and region-specific expertise while every partner is held to ZLINE's own quality standards.
Here is what stays under ZLINE's control:
- Design and specifications. ZLINE sets the materials and components for each model. For example, its KB-series wall hoods and Paramount gas ranges use 430-grade stainless steel, while select Designer Series hoods use 304-grade stainless.
- Safety certification. ZLINE lists its ranges and range hoods as ETL Listed, which means they have been tested to the applicable North American safety standards.
- Distribution. Finished products move through ZLINE's own U.S. distribution centers in Nevada, Tennessee and Ohio before reaching dealers and customers.
- Support and warranty. Warranty claims go through ZLINE's Customer Experience team, and repairs are performed by ZLINE-approved, ZLINE-certified service providers.
Why "designed in the US, built globally" is common
Specialized factories make it practical for one brand to offer hundreds of hood styles, several range series and a full refrigeration line without running a separate plant for each. The trade-off for buyers is that "where it's made" can differ by product. What matters most day to day is who designs the product, who stands behind it, and how easy it is to get service. For ZLINE, those answers are all U.S.-based.
How ZLINE Backs Its Products: Warranty Coverage
A warranty is one of the clearest signs of how a manufacturer views its own quality. These are ZLINE's current terms from its official warranty page (checked October 2026):
| Product | ZLINE manufacturer warranty |
|---|---|
| Ranges | 1 Year Parts and Service — Limited Lifetime Warranty on Gas Burners |
| Range hoods | 3 Year Parts-Only; Limited Lifetime Motor |
| Counter-depth and standard-depth refrigerators | 1 Year Parts and Service; 5 Year Parts-Only Sealed System |
| Built-in refrigerators, wine and beverage coolers | 2 Year Parts and Service; 5 Year Parts-Only Sealed System |
| Dishwashers and wall ovens | 1 Year Parts and Service |
| Microwaves | 2 Year Parts-Only |
| Sinks, faucets and shower systems | Limited Lifetime |
Coverage begins on the delivery date and applies to the original purchaser of a new product in normal residential use within the contiguous United States and Washington, DC. To file a claim you need your proof of purchase and the product's serial number, so keep both somewhere easy to find.
